While regular wax melters may be compatible with gel candle making, they are not designed for the continuous higher temperature requirements since most wax candle makers rarely reach over 175° F (79.44° C), but Gel Candle makers need to reach 175° F (79.44° C) to 300° F (148.89° C) fast and remain at that temperature.
