Follow the Material Through the Process
1. Does it arrive solid?Choose a PRIMO Wax Melter when the first job is phase change from blocks, slabs, flakes or pellets.
2. Is it heat-sensitive?Choose Thermal Conditioning when stability, viscosity and gentle holding matter more than maximum melt rate.
3. Is cycle time dominant?Evaluate Rapid-Cycle when every minute of recovery affects throughput and the material tolerates the heat-transfer method.
4. Does it need to boil?Use the separate Rapid-Boil review for evaporation, concentration or distillation—not merely faster melting.
Many production lines use more than one system: a PRIMO Wax Melter can melt feedstock, a Thermal Conditioning vessel can stabilize and stage it, and pumps or filling equipment can supply the downstream line.
Specialized Fourth Path
Rapid Boil Is Not the Same as Rapid-Cycle Melting
Rapid-Cycle systems are selected to shorten melting or
thermal-recovery cycles. Rapid-Boil systems are selected when the
process must intentionally reach boiling conditions for compatible
evaporation, concentration or distillation.
Flammable solvents, closed-vessel boiling, pressure, vacuum,
classified locations, reactive chemistry, sanitary validation and
materials that can scorch or plate onto heating surfaces require a
complete process and safety review.
Name, physical state, density, viscosity, thermal sensitivity and any safety classification.

Common PRIMO Comparison Questions
Is Thermal Conditioning simply a slower Wax Melter?
No. It is a different process priority: gentle conditioning, stability and heated holding rather than maximum phase-change speed.
Is Rapid-Cycle automatically better because it is faster?
No. Higher heat-transfer intensity is useful only when the material, cleaning procedure and production goal support it. Sensitive formulations may be better served by Thermal Conditioning.
Can one PRIMO vessel both melt and hold?
Often yes, but the best configuration depends on the material and production schedule. A dedicated melt vessel plus a conditioning or day tank can increase line uptime at higher volumes.
Should Thermal Conditioning models be selected by pounds?
Use working gallons and the actual process reserve. Density varies widely across honey, chocolate, soap, creams, oils, adhesives and specialty materials.
Where does Rapid Boil fit?
It is a specialized process family for compatible operations that intentionally reach boiling conditions. It should remain separate from general rapid-cycle melting.
