Choose a Candle Wax Melter for Today’s Batch and Tomorrow’s Production
Start with the largest batch you run now, then compare a closer-fit system with a growth-oriented PRIMO that can operate at partial capacity. Also account for daily wax demand, fragrance changes and whether the tank will supply heated filling equipment.
Calculate a Closer-Fit and a Growth-Oriented PRIMO Size
Enter the largest batch you run today. The tool shows two starting points: a closer-fit target at approximately 1.6× the current batch and a growth-oriented target at approximately 3×, where the current batch is about one-third of the vessel's listed working capacity.
Enter a batch size to see both starting recommendations.
Quick Selection Chart
PRIMO Candle Wax Melter Sizes
“Start near one-third full” is the growth-oriented planning point. “Closer-fit batch” uses approximately 1.6× capacity reserve. These are starting guides—not final engineering limits.
Capacity varies with wax density, loading practice, agitation displacement and safe operating headspace. Continuous filling requires a second calculation based on hourly consumption and melt recovery.
Why PRIMO
Built for Candle Production
Waterless
No Water Jacket
No water to fill, monitor or maintain, with faster heat-up and less jacket-related downtime.
Performance
Fast, Even Heating
Digitally controlled heating supports repeatable melting without conventional cold zones or temperature drift.
Cleanability
Rounded Stainless Interior
High-grade 304 stainless steel with a smooth #4 finish supports easier cleaning and long service life.
Workflow
Heated Dispensing Path
Heated spout and valve options help prevent the discharge point from becoming the cold restriction.
Efficiency
Fully Insulated
Double-wall construction and high-performance insulation reduce heat loss and operating cost.
Control
Digital Temperature Control
Repeatable setpoint control for candle waxes, fragrance incorporation and controlled holding.
Expansion
Production Options
Add stands, casters, mixing, filtration, pumps, heated hoses, transfer or filling equipment.
Support
USA-Manufactured
Direct application support, replacement-parts assistance and worldwide shipping from WaxMelters.
Built in the USA. Supported by the Manufacturer.
WaxMelters equipment is engineered, manufactured, tested and supported in the United States, giving customers direct access to the company responsible for the system.
Manufacturers purchase WaxMelters equipment in the United States and internationally because production reliability, serviceability and application support matter beyond the initial purchase price.
Yes. PRIMO melters can operate at partial capacity. For growth planning, the current batch may be around one-third of listed capacity, subject to the specific model and process review.
Should every customer buy the 3× recommendation?
No. Use the closer-fit recommendation when floor space, budget or frequent formula changes favor a smaller unit. Use the growth option when expansion, peak season or filling-system demand makes future capacity valuable.
Should I size by pounds or gallons?
Use pounds when production records and wax purchasing are weight based. Gallon capacity varies with wax density.
Does the calculator size an automated filling line?
No. A filling line also requires hourly consumption, available molten inventory and melt-recovery analysis.
Water-Jacketed Candle Wax Melters
For candle manufacturers whose process or facility specification specifically requires traditional indirect heating, WaxMelters also manufactures fully welded 304 stainless steel water-jacketed candle wax melters.
Our PW Series uses a traditional double-wall water jacket to transfer heat indirectly into the wax vessel and is available for commercial and industrial candle production.
If your primary requirement is gentle, uniform heating rather than a specific need for a liquid jacket, we recommend comparing the PW Series with our PRIMO waterless wax melters, which melt 2-3X faster on up to 50% less electricity, with permanent heaters and no jacket water to maintain, before selecting a tank.
Provide current batch size, wax used per day, container sizes, fill method, fragrance changes and expected growth. We will compare the closer-fit and growth-oriented system.
