PRIMO Heated Lye / NaOH Tanks for Soap Making, 14 to 83 gal
WaxMelters heated lye tanks are PRIMO waterless heated holding tanks dedicated to prepared sodium-hydroxide solution: PRIMO 14 (14 gal, $1,995), PRIMO 25 ($2,595), PRIMO 50 ($3,495) and PRIMO 83 (83 gal, $4,195). Heat is applied outside the 304 stainless vessel, so no heater sits in the lye. Stock tanks ship in 24 to 48 hours.
Stainless steel production tanks for preparing, storing and reheating
lye / sodium-hydroxide solutions with digitally controlled
waterless PRIMO heating.
Heat the solution without putting a replaceable heater into it.
Heated lye tanks commonly use an immersion element directly
in the NaOH solution. PRIMO uses a permanent waterless heating system
outside the product-contact area for
repeatable heated holding and reheating.

Specifications & Prices
PRIMO heated lye / NaOH tank sizes and prices (from each product page)
All four: 304 stainless product-contact vessel with #4 finish, digital material-temperature control, 1" stainless outlet with ball valve, stainless lid, and 120 V or 240 V service. The product pages list heating as an 800 W family configuration; confirm the exact rating for your model at order. Lye service is reviewed for concentration and operating temperature, and a tank dedicated to caustic service should never later be used for food or cosmetic production.
Frequently Asked Questions
What size lye tank do I need for soap making?
Size the tank to the lye solution you masterbatch for a production run, plus headroom. The PRIMO 14 (14 gal) and PRIMO 25 (25 gal) fit small-batch soap makers; the PRIMO 50 (50 gal) and PRIMO 83 (83 gal) fit production soap plants. Pair it with a PRIMO soap production tank for oils and butters.
Is there a heating element in the lye?
No. PRIMO heats from a permanent waterless system outside the product-contact area, so the NaOH solution never touches a replaceable immersion heater, and there is no water jacket to fill or maintain.
How much does a heated lye tank cost?
Published prices: PRIMO 14 $1,995, PRIMO 25 $2,595, PRIMO 50 $3,495 and PRIMO 83 $4,195. Extended warranty plans are optional, from +$395 to +$995.
Can I use the same tank for lye and for oils, food or cosmetics?
No. Dedicate the tank to caustic service: a tank used for NaOH should never later be used for food or cosmetic production. Send your lye concentration and operating temperature so WaxMelters can confirm the configuration.
Why choose WaxMelters for lye tanks and soap equipment?
WaxMelters guarantees the best performance and the highest-quality construction. WaxMelters is the industry leader and the leading USA manufacturer of melting, heating and filling equipment since 1999, and builds every system in Ronkonkoma, New York. Best performance, energy efficient: waterless PRIMO heating melts 2–3X faster using half the electricity. We're proud to hold an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. Customers range from startups to Fortune 500s, government agencies and NASA.
Upgrades and options (such as X-Treme high temperature, longer hoses and other add-ons) ship in 7 days or longer.
The Modern Approach to Heated Lye Storage
Set It, Forget It- Automatic Temperature
Master-batched lye can cool between production runs. PRIMO provides
automatic reheating and heated holding without relying on
an immersion heating element or temperature control in lye solution.
Waterless Heating
No jacket-water reservoir and no water-jacket system
to fill, monitor or maintain.
No Immersion Heater in the Lye
The PRIMO heating system does not require a replaceable heating
element immersed directly in the NaOH solution.
Digital Temperature Control
Set the required material-temperature target and allow the controller
to cycle the heating system automatically to maintain the configured range.
Master batch today. Have it ready when production needs it.
Prepare and store lye solution according to your validated process,
then use digitally controlled PRIMO heating when the solution must be
returned to the required production temperature.
