PRIMO vs 65 lb Benchtop Wax Melters
Resources / Buying guideJump to the guide
Short answer: A 65 lb benchtop wax melter is a good fit for a small candle business that melts about one case of wax at a time. A PRIMO 50 (56 lb) or PRIMO 75 (77 lb) covers the same batch size with waterless digital heating and double-wall insulation. It also belongs to a line that scales on the same design to 1,226 lb on a standard 110-120 V outlet. Choose by batch size, how long you hold wax, and how far you plan to scale.
Side-by-side specifications
PRIMO figures are from waxmelters.com. Benchtop figures are typical published specifications for 65 lb benchtop wax melters (checked October 2026). Always confirm current specifications with each seller.

When a 65 lb benchtop melter makes sense
- You pour about one case of soy or paraffin per session and do not plan to scale beyond that soon.
- You want a single plug-in pot from the same supplier you buy wax and fragrance from.
When a PRIMO makes sense
- You want to add a heated pump, AutoShot automated filling or a Pour X-Press cart later, on the same platform.
- You hold wax at temperature for long shifts and want double-wall insulation and digital set points.
- You expect to grow from 56 lb to 100 to 1,226 lb batches. The PRIMO 100 through PRIMO 1000 all stay on 110-120 V.
- You also melt beeswax, cosmetics, soap base or industrial waxes. PRIMO is built for 40+ industries.
