PRIMO 150 industrial wax melter, 169 lb waterless stainless steel wax melting tank

Why Our Wax Melters Outperform Pots, Kettles and Water Jackets

Waterless, Even Heat

Permanent PRIMO heaters heat evenly throughout the vessel. No jacket water to fill, monitor or maintain, and faster heat-up between batches.

2-3X Faster on Half the Electricity

Fully insulated double-wall construction keeps heat in the wax, not the room. Best performance, energy efficient.

Digital Temperature Control

Repeatable set points Up to 212°F / 100°C for fragrance incorporation, pouring and controlled holding.

Stainless, #4 Finish

Rounded stainless interiors clean easily and last. Add heated valves, stands, casters, mixing, pumps or filling equipment.

Wax Melter FAQ

What is a wax melter?

A wax melter is a heated, temperature-controlled tank that melts solid wax (slabs, blocks, flakes or pellets) and holds it at a steady pour temperature for candle making and other production. PRIMO wax melters are waterless, digitally controlled stainless-steel tanks from 25 lb to 60,000 lb, with a standard range up to 212°F / 100°C.

What size wax melter do I need?

Start with the largest batch you normally run. A PRIMO can begin a batch at about one-third of its rated capacity, so a larger melter can handle today’s batch with room to grow. For example, a 35 lb batch points to the PRIMO 50 as the closer fit and the PRIMO 100 for growth. See the PRIMO sizing and capacity guide.

Can a wax melter plug into a standard outlet?

Yes for most shop sizes. The PRIMO 25 through PRIMO 1000 run on standard 110-120 V, drawing from 300 W (PRIMO 25, about 2.5 A) to 1,800 W (PRIMO 1000, about 15 A). Have an electrician confirm the circuit for the PRIMO 350 to PRIMO 1000. PRIMO 1500 and larger are 220-240 V standard.

What is the difference between a waterless PRIMO and a water-jacketed PW wax melter?

A PW Series melter heats water in a jacket around the vessel, which then heats the wax. A PRIMO heats evenly throughout the vessel with permanent heaters and digital control, so there is no jacket water to fill or maintain, and it melts 2-3X faster using half the electricity. Choose PW when your process or plant specification requires indirect water-jacket heating.

How hot does a PRIMO wax melter get?

The standard temperature range is up to 212°F / 100°C, which covers soy, paraffin, coconut, beeswax and blended candle waxes. A X-Treme option up to 400°F / 204°C is offered on many models; check the product page for your size.

How fast do wax melters ship, and what is the warranty?

Usually ships within 7 days. Standard coverage is the Limited Warranty (1 year on electrical, 3 years on metal parts), with optional Factory Protection Plans that extend equipment coverage to 2, 3 or 4 years total.

WaxMelters guarantees the best performance and the highest-quality construction. Best performance, energy efficient. Waterless PRIMO heating melts 2-3X faster using half the electricity, with safe, even heat from digital temperature control.
