Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a heated holding tank or a melter?
Choose a heated holding tank when the material is already liquid or prepared and mainly needs to stay at working temperature. Choose a PRIMO melter to melt solid feedstock, or PRIMO Thermal Conditioning when the process needs extended controlled holding or agitation.
Can a heated holding tank keep chocolate ready for dipping or enrobing?
Yes, for holding: it keeps compatible chocolate and coatings at a controlled temperature between production steps. It is not a tempering system; tempering may need controlled cooling, agitation and crystal management. See chocolate melting and holding tanks.
How fast do PRIMO heated holding tanks ship?
All four sizes are listed in stock and usually ship within 3 to 5 days: packaged (PRIMO 14 and PRIMO 25) or palletized (PRIMO 50 and PRIMO 83).
What electrical service do they need?
120 V or 240 V, configured at order. The product pages list an 800 W standard heating configuration for the family; confirm the final rating for your model at order.
