WaxMelters heated lye tanks are PRIMO waterless heated holding tanks dedicated to prepared sodium-hydroxide solution: PRIMO 14 (14 gal, $1,995), PRIMO 25 ($2,195), PRIMO 50 ($3,195) and PRIMO 83 (83 gal, $4,195). No heater sits in the lye. Stock tanks usually ship within 3 to 5 days.

All four: Stainless product-contact vessel with #4 finish, digital material-temperature control, 1" stainless outlet with ball valve, stainless lid, and 120 V or 240 V service. Lye service is reviewed for concentration and operating temperature, and a tank dedicated to caustic service should never later be used for food or cosmetic production.

What size lye tank do I need for soap making?
Size the tank to the lye solution you masterbatch for a production run, plus headroom. The PRIMO 14 (14 gal) and PRIMO 25 (25 gal) fit small-batch soap makers; the PRIMO 50 (50 gal) and PRIMO 83 (83 gal) fit production soap plants. Pair it with a PRIMO soap production tank for oils and butters.
How is the lye heated?
Nothing heats inside the lye; PRIMO heats evenly throughout the vessel with a permanent waterless system, and there is no water jacket to fill or maintain.
How much does a heated lye tank cost?

Can I use the same tank for lye and for oils, food or cosmetics?
No. Dedicate the tank to caustic service: a tank used for NaOH should never later be used for food or cosmetic production. Send your lye concentration and operating temperature so WaxMelters can confirm the configuration.

The Modern Approach to Heated Lye Storage
Set It, Forget It- Automatic Temperature
Master-batched lye can cool between production runs. PRIMO provides automatic reheating and heated holding without relying on an immersion heating element or temperature control in lye solution.
No Immersion Heater in the Lye
The PRIMO heating system does not require a replaceable heating element immersed directly in the NaOH solution.
Digital Temperature Control
Set the required material-temperature target and allow the controller to cycle the heating system automatically to maintain the configured range.
