Repair by Customer's Qualified Service Personnel

Many WaxMelters melting tanks and heated process systems are designed so eligible external electrical or mechanical components can be serviced at the customer's facility by appropriately qualified personnel after the affected component has been identified.

Troubleshooting & Authorization Come First

Before M&FE authorizes warranty service, replacement components or a field repair procedure, the customer must complete the applicable Guided Troubleshooting & Warranty Service Request or other troubleshooting process specified by M&FE.

No completed process = no warranty authorization.

A qualified electrician or technician should not begin changing components or altering wiring simply because a particular part is suspected.

When Local Service May Be Appropriate

  • Replacement of an approved externally serviceable component;
  • Electrical testing specifically requested by M&FE;
  • Installation of an approved replacement control or electrical component;
  • Repair work for which M&FE has supplied the applicable instructions; or
  • Non-warranty service where the customer chooses to use qualified local personnel.
Important: M&FE does not routinely dispatch field-service technicians to customer facilities. Where appropriate, qualified customer personnel or a qualified local electrician/technician may perform approved work using the correct replacement components and instructions.

Warranty Repairs Performed Locally

Local service is not automatically reimbursable under warranty. Labor, travel, removal, installation or third-party service charges are covered only when expressly authorized by M&FE in writing before the work is performed.

Damage resulting from incorrect wiring, improper installation, unauthorized modification, incorrect components or work that differs from the procedure provided by M&FE is not covered.

Before Work Begins

The customer should provide the service technician with the correct M&FE instructions, equipment identification and approved replacement components. If anything differs from the documentation or the technician encounters an unexpected condition, stop and contact M&FE before proceeding.
