Troubleshooting

1. Stop immediately for burning odor, smoke, arcing, exposed wiring, liquid near controls, or a hot/discolored plug or receptacle.
2. Read the complete nameplate. Confirm the facility supply matches voltage, phase, frequency, and required circuit rating.
3. Remove any extension cord, power strip, timer, adapter, or shared load. Connect only to the correct grounded receptacle.
4. Confirm the plug is fully seated and the facility disconnect is on. Inspect the cord and receptacle with power removed.
5. Set the green main button and permitted red heat-zone button(s) to ON. Confirm the controller display illuminates.
6. Verify the setpoint is above the displayed process temperature and observe whether the controller's output indicator turns on.
7. Inspect only the user-accessible protection device shown for the exact model. Do not bypass it or substitute a higher rating.
8. Record which controls illuminate, displayed values, output-indicator behavior, supply information, and any trip timing.

1. Turn all controls off, unplug, and allow the unit to cool. Photograph the control state and the device that opened.
2. Identify the exact device: facility breaker, GFCI, unit-mounted protector, or fuse. Record its rating and trip position.
3. Inspect the cord, plug, receptacle, controller area, buttons, and exterior for moisture, damage, discoloration, debris, or overheating.

5. Record when the trip occurs: immediately at plug-in, at main power, when a specific heat zone turns on, after heating, or during dispensing.
6. Only if a known facility overload was corrected and no equipment defect is visible, one controlled reset may be made under observation. Stop if it opens again.
7. Never energize equipment to 'dry it out.' Do not open electrical enclosures or perform live testing unless qualified and authorized.

1. Confirm the tank is loaded before heat and at least one-third full, or above the higher model-specific minimum. Do not run an upper zone below its minimum-fill line.
2. Verify the nameplate-matched supply and direct grounded connection. A unit on the wrong supply may power the display but not heat correctly.
3. Confirm the setpoint is above process temperature, the output indicator turns on, and the intended heat-zone buttons illuminate.
4. Use the lid when permitted. Eliminate strong drafts and confirm safe circulation or mixing for the product.
5. Compare the controller display with a calibrated independent thermometer in a stable, safely mixed batch.
6. After complete cooldown and disconnection, inspect the accessible exterior, cord, plug, controls, valve, and tank for damage or residue.
7. Run a controlled performance check and record batch weight, starting temperature, setpoint, heat zones, room conditions, and temperature at timed intervals.

1. Verify actual bulk-product temperature with a calibrated independent thermometer. Measure only where it can be done safely.
2. Confirm the fill level safely covers the active heat zone and sensor location. Low fill can produce misleading or localized readings.
3. Lower the setpoint and allow time for stored heat and thermal lag. The bulk temperature may continue rising briefly after output turns off.
4. Observe the controller output indicator. Record whether it cycles off as the display reaches setpoint.
5. Safely mix or circulate only if approved for the material and equipment. Recheck the bulk temperature after stabilization.
6. Verify controller units (°F/°C) and calibration. Do not change sensor type, output mode, relay/SSR values, or high limits.
7. Record setpoint, display, actual bulk reading, fill level, active zones, elapsed time, and output-indicator behavior.

Before returning to service

1. The reason for the high reading is understood and corrected.
2. The controller and independent thermometer agree within the documented process tolerance at steady state.
3. No protection device operated, no wiring or control damage is visible, and heat output cycles normally.

1. Turn off all controls, disconnect the unit if safe, contain the area, and allow the tank and material to cool completely.
2. Photograph the leak before cleaning. Identify whether it originates at the valve stem, threaded connection, gasket, tank seam, or near a control/electrical area.
3. Only a cool, empty threaded-valve connection may be inspected and reassembled using the exact approved sealing method.
4. Do not weld, braze, torch, heat-gun, patch, or field-seal a tank seam. Do not operate a unit leaking near electrical components.
5. Submit photos of the source, the complete valve assembly, nameplate, model, serial number, material, setpoint, and when the leak began.

1. Confirm the valve handle is in the correct open position and the receiving container is stable and ready.
2. Confirm material at the outlet is fully liquid and within the approved dispensing viscosity and temperature range.
3. Allow the valve to warm only from normal tank operation. Never use an open flame, torch, or heat gun.
4. After cooldown, remove unapproved downstream restrictions, reductions, or piping and inspect for solidified material using an approved cleaning method.
5. Do not probe, strike, or disassemble a hot or pressurized valve. Stop if the source of a blockage is uncertain.

1. Do not load or pour if movement binds, shifts, will not remain upright, will not lock, or requires abnormal force.
2. With the system cool, empty, unplugged, upright, and supported, inspect casters, frame, pivot, handle, restraint, fasteners, obstructions, and visible damage.
3. Photograph both sides and provide a video of the empty mechanism only if support requests it. Do not modify or adjust without authorization.

2. Confirm all path zones are stable, the source valve is open, the hose is not kinked/crushed, and the dispenser is supported.
3. Re-prime only after the complete path is ready. Do not increase pressure or repeatedly pulse the pump against a blockage.
4. If flow does not return, stop, close the valve, unplug, cool, and use the approved cleaning/inspection method. Never probe hot equipment.

1. Confirm a homogeneous batch, approved source/filler temperatures, complete warm-up, open source valve, and air-free prime.
2. Correct hose support/bend radius and hold nozzle height, container position, and operator/timer duration constant.
3. Inspect shutoff behavior and delayed residual material. Change only one process variable at a time and record fill weights.
4. Stop if the stream changes with abnormal motor sound, repeated pressure buildup, controller instability, or a known restriction.

5. If flow does not return or the motor hums/chatters/binds, stop, cool, document, and use the confirmed standard or HVISC path.

5. Stop for continuous flow, unintended cycling, failure to close, or an unsafe container/nozzle interaction.

1. Make sure to be mixing materials when using your mixer. It has a high torque motor and will vibrate and be especially loud when used without materials.
2. Make sure you begin mixing in low gear (Level I) and have the variable speed dial in the lowest position and raise it incrementally.
3. Make sure to tighten the shaft to the blade and entire shaft to the mixer motor by hand initially and then with a wrench to prevent stripping the threads and to make sure unit is secure.

3. If chambers differ, compare like-for-like loads, wax lots, setpoints, warm-up times, output indicators, and independent readings.
4. Do not raise a setpoint beyond the supplier target or 130°F ceiling to compensate for a cold area.
5. Stop if output remains on without heat rise, a code returns, or any electrical area becomes hot.

1. Remove all participant access and turn heat off. Do not add water, ice, cold packs, or cold wax.
2. Record controller face, °F/°C, setpoint, process display, output, independent temperatures by location, level/load, and wax condition.
3. If heating continues with output off, actual wax exceeds the applicable limit, or the controller is unstable, disconnect power when safe and escalate.
4. Quarantine the wax and machine under facility procedure until cause, wax condition, and safe temperature are confirmed.

1. Check only external sensor/controller condition and independent readings. Do not open the enclosure or alter hidden parameters.
2. A large or changing difference is not solved by an arbitrary calibration offset; submit readings and photos to support.

1. Remove participant access, turn heat/main power off, unplug when safe, contain wax, and allow complete cooling.
2. Photograph the uncleaned source and identify chamber wall/seam, sensor/control area, outlet/accessory if present, or external drip path.
3. Do not tighten, patch, weld, or clean away evidence while hot or loaded. Keep structural/electrical-area leaks out of service.

1. Quarantine wax with unknown identity, contamination, water, abnormal odor/color/texture, overheating history, or conflicting supplier information.
2. Record product/lot, age/use history, additives, temperature history, cleaning exposure, and photos.
3. Follow the wax supplier and facility procedure for disposition; never blend questionable wax into a known batch.

1. Make sure the outlet works.
2. Make sure the fuse has not been tripped: to reset fuse, flick the trip mechanism.
3. Be sure button(s), fuse(s) and controller are free from materials, wax, dripping product, debris, etc.: accumulation of materials on these components will result in shorter life-span and can lead to blown/tripped fuses, button lights to go out or controller failure.

1. Make sure no substances are leaking from the ball valve back into the Melter, which can happen if the Ball Valve is loose, there is no Teflon on the valve and/or the black gasket seal has been removed.
2. Make sure no materials have dripped down the tank and onto the fuse, materials on or inside of the fuse can cause fuse to trip.
3. Make sure your outlet is properly grounded and not overloaded; your melting tank should be the only appliance on the circuit.
4. (2018 Models: Re-settable Fuses) Be sure fuse has not tripped (showing white front), If so-reset it.
5. (Ceramic Fuse: Pre-2018) Be sure fuse cap is tight, and properly inserted, be sure fuse has not blown: also be sure nothing has dripped on/inside fuse holder. Ceramic fuses can be found at most local hardware stores such as Home Depot etc., in the microwave section, normally if you bring the blown fuse in with you, a store associate will be able to replace it for you.

1. If this occurs the first few times or after a period of inactivity, there may be a Low MEGOHM Condition (heaters may absorb moisture from the environment) which prevents heater from operating at maximum efficiency until unit is used several times and moisture evaporated out.
2. Make sure the GREEN light on the control comes on. If not, then the temperature needs to be set.
3. Make sure the unit is not on an extension cord, power strip, or on a line with other appliances, etc.
4. Make sure to set the unit to the melting and/or mixing point (whichever is higher) recommended by the manufacturer of your materials.
5. If you are melting different kinds of materials and/or materials with different melting points, densities or other properties, make sure melt and mix the higher melt points first and to keep mixing so the denser materials do not sink to the bottom
6. Make sure you keep the lid on while heating to reduce heat loss and more uniform heating.
7. Make sure to double check the Advanced Temperature Control Settings.
8. If the unit is dirty and/or has burned materials in it, try cleaning and scrubbing it (with scouring pad if needed) as you would a stainless steel pot since this will interfere with the sensors.
9. If your room is cold or you are using the unit near an open door/window, a fan, humidifier, dehumidifier, air conditioner, etc, the unit may heat slower or take more time. You may have to raise the temperature of the unit to compensate for heat loss.

1. Be sure your “OFF” and “ON” settings are correctly set: “OFF” setting must always be set higher than “ON” setting. Try separating your settings by 2 degrees (ex. OFF= 175, ON = 173).
2. If you would like to change the temperature setting, you must always change both “OFF” and “ON” settings.
3. Try lowering the temperature setting since depending on your location, some calibration may be required. For example, the electric may be over 120v/240v, higher altitudes have lower boiling points, humidity in a room can influence temperature and so on.
4. Try removing the lid and mixing your materials to better distribute the heat.
5. If the unit is dirty and/or has burned materials in it, try cleaning and scrubbing it (with scouring pad if needed) as you would a stainless steel pot since this will interfere with the sensors.
6. If you are melting different kinds of materials and/or materials with different melting points, densities or other properties, make sure melt and mix the higher melt points first and to keep mixing so the denser materials do not sink to the bottom.
7. Make sure you are using at least enough material to fill 1/3 of the tank.
8. Try adjusting your Digital Temperature Controller settings, especially the low range before heating re-initiates.

1. Check your controller settings, you can find the full controller settings on page 8. It is possible some setting(s) were reset or accidentally changed. Follow the guide and be sure all relevant settings match the guide. Not every setting in the guide will appear in your controller.
2. Try lowering the temperature setting since depending on your location, some calibration may be required. For example, the electric may be over 120v/240v, higher altitudes have lower boiling points, humidity in a room can influence temperature and so on.
3. Try removing the lid and mixing your materials to better disburse the heat.
4. Make sure the unit is properly calibrated as instructed on PAGE 4.
5. Make sure you are using at least enough material to fill the chambers 1/3 high.

1. Your Melting Tank should not leak. Before leaving our facility, it is welded and then filled with water to make sure there are no leaks since leaks would damage the electrical equipment. Next, the electrical work is completed on the unit (while the outside of the unit is not yet sealed) and it is again filled with water to test it since if there are any problems, at this point, water is easy to dispose of. Next, it is tested with materials and the sensors are calibrated. Lastly, it is finally sealed. Hence, there is no way there could have been a leak before shipping the unit.
2. Make sure to check that the Teflon tape on the Ball Valve is in place.
3. Make sure the Ball Valve is connected tightly with a wrench.

1. Remove any extra attachments made to the ball valve, such as extra pipe, elbow, etc., this can lead to clogging, slow flow rate and even slower heat time.
2. Melting tank temperature needs to be raised: the melting point of any particular product will rise if color, fragrance, etc. are added. Also, the listed melting point is normally lower than the actual temperature required to sufficiently liquefy the product for purposes of pouring.

1. If one chamber is found to be hotter or colder than others, be sure all chambers are correctly positioned: each chamber is labeled with a number, and each chamber position is also labeled in the tank with the same number. The labels are placed as to correspond to the chamber position and orientation of each chamber in that position (the label on the chamber should be ‘face to face’ with corresponding label in the tank). Example: chamber labeled “1”, label will be found on one outside face of the removable chamber, on the inner wall of the tank you will also find a position labeled “1”. When correctly positioned, the chamber labels should face each other directly (face-to-face).
2. If one chamber is found to be hotter or colder than others - Using an external thermometer (a standard dip thermometer should be used, not a laser) check the temperature of each chamber and record it, after this, take the average of all chambers together, and divide by the number of chambers total: this will give you the average temperature of all of the chambers together. Once you have this figure, compare it with what the controller is actually reading, and change your “In-b” setting accordingly (see pg. 3). For example: if the average temperature is 125f, and controller reads 130f, you will set your “In-b” setting to: “-5”.
