CHAPTER 6 • PRIMO WAX HANDS BUSINESS & OPERATOR GUIDE
Operating & Cleaning PRIMO Wax Hands Equipment
Build repeatable startup, operating, chamber-management, EZ-Clean Topper™, shutdown and cleaning routines around the exact PRIMO configuration.
Operate the Equipment the Same Way Every Time
Consistency is the goal. Build a written startup, operating, cleaning and shutdown routine around the exact PRIMO model, wax and venue rather than relying on memory or a different operator's habits.
Pre-Startup Check
- Confirm the equipment is on a stable operating surface or the casters are positioned/locked as designed.
- Confirm the selected electrical service matches the equipment configuration.
- Inspect cords, controls, lids, removable chambers and any cooling section for obvious damage or contamination.
- Confirm the correct wax is assigned to each chamber.
- Install the EZ-Clean Topper™ correctly on multi-chamber systems.
- Confirm the cooling station and guest area are ready before opening the attraction.
Temperature Controls
Use the controller instructions supplied for the current control system. Do not assume that a setting used on a different wax, different controller generation or different machine is automatically appropriate.
WaxMelters' current troubleshooting guidance includes a maximum Wax Hands operating temperature. Follow the current manual and selected wax supplier guidance rather than raising the temperature simply to accelerate melting.
Removable Chambers
WaxMelters calls the individual vessels removable wax chambers. Remove or handle them only according to the equipment instructions and only when conditions allow safe handling. Their value is operational: individual colors can be managed, cleaned and serviced without treating the entire outer machine as one monolithic vat.
PRIMO EZ-Clean Topper™
On new multi-chamber PRIMO systems, the EZ-Clean Topper™ is standard. Its purpose is not guest protection; it is wax management and professional presentation.
Color Separation
Helps direct drips back toward the intended chamber rather than into a neighboring color.
Keep Wax Out of the Gaps
Covers the spaces around removable chambers so dripped wax is less likely to enter areas that are difficult to clean.
Movement
Helps contain residual wax around chamber openings when equipment is repositioned or transported under the approved procedure.
Appearance
Creates a clean stainless-steel finished work surface rather than exposing the structural spaces between removable chambers.
Color Changes
Plan color changes rather than improvising them during the busiest part of an event. Use labeled chambers and tools, avoid introducing unknown wax into a chamber and allow enough time for the new material to reach the established operating condition.
Shutdown
Follow the model-specific shutdown procedure. Account for residual heat, lids, chamber condition, cooling-station water, electrical disconnection and transport. On X-Press, compact the system only according to its intended transport procedure and after the wax/equipment condition is appropriate for movement.
Cleaning
Cleaning is easiest when it is treated as part of every operating day rather than deferred until contamination becomes difficult. Remove the EZ-Clean Topper™ according to the equipment procedure, clean the accessible finished surface and maintain the removable chambers by color assignment.
Do not use an aggressive cleaning method, chemical or washdown procedure that conflicts with the selected machine's electrical/washdown configuration.
