CHAPTER 10 • PRIMO WAX HANDS BUSINESS & OPERATOR GUIDE
Wax Hand Machine Troubleshooting & Technical Support
Use structured pre-event checks, current manuals and model-specific support instead of changing controls or parts by guesswork.
Troubleshoot From the System Outward
Do not begin by changing controller parameters or replacing parts. First verify the simple conditions that cause many operating problems: power, outlet, breaker, configuration, wax type, set point, chamber condition and whether the equipment is being used according to the correct manual.
Pre-Event Reliability Check
☐ Correct machine manual available
☐ Correct electrical service confirmed
☐ Outlet tested / venue circuit confirmed
☐ Cords and controls visually inspected
☐ Breakers/fuses checked
☐ Correct wax loaded
☐ Chamber and topper arrangement verified
☐ Controller set point verified against current procedure
☐ Cooling station ready
☐ Machine function checked before customers arrive
Common Issue: Machine Does Not Power On
Check the obvious conditions first: venue outlet, equipment power switch, breaker/fuse status and whether the circuit is overloaded or incompatible with the equipment configuration. Use the current WaxMelters troubleshooting guide for the exact model/control generation.
Do not bypass protective devices, alter wiring or open electrical enclosures unless the work is being performed under the appropriate qualified service procedure.
Common Issue: Wax Is Not Behaving Normally
Confirm the wax itself before assuming the machine is faulty. Verify the material grade, supplier, lot if relevant and the established working procedure. WaxMelters' current troubleshooting material warns not to use ordinary candle wax in a Wax Hands machine.
Common Issue: Colors Are Contaminating Each Other
Check operator drip technique, chamber assignment, cleanliness and the EZ-Clean Topper™ installation. The topper is designed to help direct drips toward the intended chamber and keep wax out of the spaces around the removable chambers, but operating technique still matters.
Common Issue: Event Setup Takes Too Long
Treat setup as a workflow problem. Pre-label colors, standardize tools, pack supplies by work zone and use a written load-in checklist. If repeated vehicle transport is the issue, consider whether the X-Press platform or integrated cooling would eliminate separate equipment and reduce loadout complexity.
Common Issue: Not Enough Space
Measure the actual machine and the guest workflow. If a large floor-standing workstation is consuming space you need for customers, a compact tabletop or custom tabletop installation may be the better architecture. Use the footprint calculator before replacing equipment with another machine that creates the same space problem.
When to Contact WaxMelters
- Controller behavior does not match the manual.
- Electrical protection repeatedly trips after the venue circuit is verified.
- A chamber, control, lid, topper or structural component is damaged.
- You need a legacy controller or historical manual identified.
- You are changing voltage, washdown environment or equipment configuration.
- You are unsure whether a material is compatible with the intended wax-hand process.
Video & Manual Library
Publish equipment-specific setup and operation videos next to the written instructions so the information is available both visually and as crawlable text. Useful existing WaxMelters / PRIMO video references include:

Do Not Troubleshoot by Raising Temperature
If the material is not behaving as expected, do not simply increase heat beyond the approved operating procedure. Verify the wax, controls and equipment first. Follow the current manual's maximum temperature and contact WaxMelters when the problem cannot be resolved through normal checks.
