Short answer: First decide what goes into the tank. - Clean, filtered or block beeswax (for candles, slabs or bulk melting): a PRIMO Beeswax Melter & Honey Processing Tank. These are waterless, digitally controlled, 304 stainless tanks from 7 gal (50 lb of beeswax, $1,675) to 158 gal (1,000 lb, $7,995). - Raw comb, cappings, or material carrying water and debris: a PRIMO Beeswax & Honey Separation / Clarification Tank. The site's selection guide: models 10–35 for small-batch and entry production, 50–75 for commercial processing and growing operations, and 100–150 for high-volume processing.

How to pick a size

  1. Start with your beeswax weight per batch, using the site's beeswax rating (each tank holds roughly half as many pounds of beeswax as honey).
  2. Decide whether the tank also has to separate water and debris. If yes, choose a separation/clarification tank.
  3. Plan what happens after melting: molds, blocks, candle filling or transfer. Melters can be combined with heated valves, hoses, pumps and filling systems.

What all PRIMO beeswax tanks share

  • Waterless heating with no water-jacket maintenance, and digital temperature control
  • Double-wall insulated, 304 stainless with a #4 finish, and a rounded interior for even heating and easier cleaning
  • Heated discharge configurations for smooth molten-wax flow
  • 110–120 V standard on the 7–50 gal sizes (see the voltage guide)
