Five sizing rules

  1. Size to your largest batch in pounds or gallons. A PRIMO can run at about one-third of its rated capacity, so you can buy for growth and still run small batches. See the PRIMO sizing & capacity guide.
  2. Melt time sets how many batches you get per shift. WaxMelters melters generally melt a load in about 45 minutes to an hour.
  3. Match the hot side to the filler. Containers per cycle × fill weight × cycles per hour must stay below what your melters can melt and hold.
  4. Plan the electrical service early. Up to the PRIMO 150, melters run on standard 110–120 V. Larger systems offer 220–240, 480 and 600 V.
  5. Upgrade in steps, keeping the same platform: melter → heated dispenser → automated single head → multi-head → fragrance or additive injection.
