PRIMO heating technology

What does "waterless" mean on a PRIMO melter?

The permanent PRIMO heating system heats the production vessel directly, so there is no separate water reservoir to fill, heat or maintain. Digital material-temperature control holds the set point for even heating. Digital, waterless, energy-efficient PRIMO heating gives even heating and melts 2–3X faster on half the electricity.

How much electricity does a PRIMO melter use?

PRIMO melts 2–3X faster on half the electricity, which saves money, time and energy. Standard heating is 300 W on the PRIMO 25, 800 W on the PRIMO 50 to PRIMO 150 and 1800 W on the PRIMO 1000. Actual energy use varies by material, batch and setup. See every model in the wax melter electricity guide.

Sizes, voltage and choosing equipment

What sizes are available?

PRIMO melters run from 25 lb (PRIMO 25, $1,395) to 60,000 lb (PRIMO 60000). Soap Production Tanks run from PRIMO 3 to PRIMO 8000, heated holding tanks from 14 to 83 gallons, and heated fillers from the hand-guided EZ-1 to the 8-head OCTO. Need another size? WaxMelters builds custom tanks. Sizing help: PRIMO sizing and capacity guide.

What voltage options are available?

PRIMO 25 through PRIMO 250 are 110–120 V standard, with 220–240 V, 480 V and 600 V options. PRIMO 350 to PRIMO 1000 are 110–120 V for standard temperature and 220–240 V for High-Temp X-Treme. PRIMO 1500 and larger are 220–240 V standard. Confirm the voltage, phase and amperage at your site, then see the wax melter voltage guide.

What wax melter does a candle business need?

Most candle businesses start with the PRIMO 25 ($1,395, 25 lb) or PRIMO 100 ($2,050, 105 lb) on a standard 110–120 V outlet, move to the PRIMO 250 to PRIMO 1000 for wholesale production, and use PRIMO 1500 and larger for factory lines. Size by candles per batch with the candle wax melter sizing guide or read the best wax melter for candle making guide.

Which candle filling machine should I choose?

Choose by how you fill: the hand-guided EZ-1 ($3,450) for mixed containers, the gravity-fed AutoValve ($5,495) or automated AutoShot ($8,495) for repeatable single-head fills, and the 4-head QUATTRO ($29,995) or 8-head OCTO ($52,995) for production lines. Melt and fill on one cart with the Pour X-Press ($6,295 to $13,995). Guide: best candle filling machine.
