Melt and hold in the same vessel, round or rectangular, 25 lb to 60,000 lb. For high-throughput melting where recovery between batches sets the pace. Gentle, controlled heating, viscosity stability and extended heated holding. Keep material at process temperature next to filling and transfer points. Fully welded 304 stainless indirect heating, 75 lb to 1,000 lb, when your specification requires a jacket. Standard, flat-tray, circulating and custom immersion tanks. What is an industrial melting tank?An industrial melting tank is a heated vessel that turns solid feedstock into a controlled liquid and holds it at process temperature for pouring, pumping, dipping, transfer or filling. PRIMO melting tanks are waterless, digitally controlled and built in 304 stainless steel from 25 lb to 60,000 lb.
What materials can a PRIMO melting tank handle?PRIMO tanks process soy, paraffin, microcrystalline, beeswax and blended waxes, casting and packaging waxes, cheese and food-contact wax coatings, cosmetic and depilatory waxes, soap bases, oils and compatible industrial compounds. What voltage do industrial melting tanks need?PRIMO 25 through PRIMO 1000 run on standard 110-120 V. PRIMO 1500 and larger are 220-240 V standard, and 480 V and 600 V options are listed on many product pages. Confirm voltage, phase and amperage at your site with a licensed electrician.
Do you build custom melting tanks?Yes. We build custom melting and heating tanks in any size, shape, volume and temperature range, including custom gallon sizes, round or rectangular vessels, stands, casters, valves, mixing and filtration. Send internal dimensions, maximum temperature, washdown needs and voltage for a quote.
Is a water-jacketed melting tank better than a waterless tank?Only when your process or plant specification requires indirect liquid-jacket heating, in which case our PW Series is the right choice. For most new electrically heated applications, a waterless PRIMO gives controlled, even heating without a water reservoir and melts 2-3X faster using half the electricity.
